Azalea, the Real Meaning...

Azaleas were the flowers widely loved by people as snacks during the period of spring poverty.

However, as Korea become industrialized and people worry less about foods, the real beauty and meaning of azalea is easy to be forgotten.

During spring time, azalea blooms in Biseulsan. It is a very exotic scene with rosy pink flower spread through the highlands.

Biseulsan, the Legendary Mountain

Biseulsan locates near Dalsung-gun, Daegu. It is as high as 1,804m with mountainous scenery. There are other tourist attractions in the biseulsan including Yugasa, Sojaesa, Yongyeongsa, Biseulsan recreational forests and so on.

According to historical documents, Biseulsan is protected by the Buddha and the god has lead the city as the capital. So there are a lot of temples in the mountain. Yugasa, which exists even this time, was founded during the dynasty of Silla and history sites it as a place with more than 3,000 monks.

Mounting Expectations on 2013 Biseulsan Azalea Cultural Festival

񟭍 Biseulsan Azalea Cultural Festival' will be held from May 1^st to 8^th at the recreational forest in Biseulsan.

Dalsung-gun, marking its 100^th year, have newly planned the festival under the theme of “Azalea blooms in 100 year history of Dalsung’ with the focus on storytelling.

Many recreational events will be held including opening ceremony(Insooni), song festival(Host Songhea), 100 year celebrating concert, Bibimbap performance for 2013 people, K-pop concert, local product auction.

There will also be other adventure experiences such as Biseulsan photozone, local product exhibition, Daegyunsa temple, poem citing events and so on.

Other sister events will also be provided: ‘Science and Environment’(May 4~5, Daegu National Science Museum), ‘Dalsung Moole-gil Marathon’(April 28, Dalsungbo), ‘Flower Arrangement Exhibitions of 100 women’(May 4~6, The ARC), ‘Dalsung traditional food contest’(May 4, Bisuelsan Recreational Forest).

참꽃 군락지, 참꽃의 진짜 숨은 뜻은...

과거 보릿고개당시 배를 골던 그 시절 진달래는 이른 봄의 간식거리로 사람들에게 작은 행복을 주던 꽃이었다. 그래서 진달래는 ‘참꽃’이라고 불리기도 했다.

하지만 최근 사람들이 산업성장과 먹을 것에 대한 고민에서 벗어나면서 진달래는 단순히 자연 속에 존재하는 하나의 꽃일 뿐, 그 시절의 중요한 참 정신은 잊혀가고 있다.

비슬산 정상에는 봄이 오면 참꽃이 장대하게 펼쳐진다. 30만평의 광활한 고원지대에 펼쳐지는 진한 분홍 색상은 별천지에 온 것 같은 느낌마저 들게한다.

비슬산, 전설속에 과거 그 규모가 대단

대구광역시 달성군에 소재한 비슬산은 도시인근에 있는 산이지만 해발 1,084m로 산세가 장중하며, 기암괴석과 울창한 산림을 간직하고 있다. 이곳에는 유가사, 소재사, 용연사 등 전통사찰과 대견사지, 비슬산 자연휴양림, 화원자연휴향림 등 연계한 관광명소로 잘 알려진 곳이다.

달성군 유가사의 전해지는 기록에 따르면 비슬산은 가섭부처가 터를 증명하고 정성천왕이 수도를 봐주었다는 전설이 있다. 따라서 일찍이 산 자락 곳곳에 사찰들이 들어섰는 것으로 기록되어있다. 그중 현존하는 유가사는 신라시대 때 창건되었고 고려시대 때는 3,000여명의 승려가 수도했다는 기록도 있다.

2013 비슬산 참꽃문화제 기대만발

񟭍 비슬산 참꽃문화제'가 5월 1일 부터 8일까지 비슬산 자연휴양림 일원에서 열릴예정이다.

올해 개청 100년을 맞은 달성군은 ‘백년 달성 참꽃으로 물들다’를 주제로 100년과 관련한 다양한 스토리텔링에 초점을 맞춰 행사를 기획했다.

비슬산 산신제가 진행된 이후 개막축하공연(인순이), 참꽃가요제(MC 송해), 백년 맞이 콘서트, 2013인분 참꽃 비빔밥 퍼포먼스, K-pop 콘서트, 100년 맞이 도전 100곡, 달성 효콘서트, 특산물경매&레크레이션 등으로 다채롭게 진행된다.

이와 함께 꽃꽃이 전시회, 비슬산 포토존, 특산물판매장 전시장, 먹거리장터, 대견사 기와불사, 전통차 시음회, 시 낭송회, 참꽃 낚시, 소망나무 메시지 달기 등 다양한 부대행사와 체험행사가 열린다.

축제와 연계해 ‘과학·환경 대축전’(5월4~5일, 국립대구과학관), ‘달성 물레길 전국마라톤대회’(4월28일, 달성보), ‘여성 100인 원예작품 전시회’(5월4~6일, 강정고령보 디아크), ‘달성 향토 전통음식 경연대회’(5월4일, 비슬산 자연휴양림 세미나실) 등도 동시에 펼쳐진다.
